London Fashion Week S/S12

Last month I was given a great opportunity to work at London Fashion Week. I was assisting key make-up Artist Sandra Cooke.

The look was designed by Sandra for Jacob Kimmie show 'Rhapsody' using Bodyshop make-up.

Make-up I did for the show-

Behind the Scenes, backstage was packed and really busy. With hair and make-up and dressing all in on area.

I really enjoyed London fashion week, hopefully be there again next year!

Collection 2000 HQ & 'A La Mode' Fashion Show

After travelling up to Wigan on Thursday evening the Fabset met up again, it was nice to have a catch up with the girls. We stayed in a hotel over night then in the morning we got to go to Collection 2000 head office. I would love to work at the collection 2000 head office what a dream job, it’s only a small team but they put so much into the brand. We started with a tour around the lab which wasn’t far from the main building. This was so much fun, we all donned our lab coats and made lipstick, foundation and mascara. We even got to create our own shade of glam glitter eyeliner! I decided to make a glittery grey tone. I love it. After the tour of the lab was over, we went back to the main building. We then had a presentations on up and coming trends, it was interesting to find out how Collection 2000 decided on what products and colours to bring out. We then had the fun task of naming the products. We started by brainstorming ideas and names and then had a big group discussion on names we liked and disliked, we eventually all decided on the names for the new products. I can’t wait to see them on the shelf.
After we named the products we were given a big bag full of the new Collection 2000 products. It’s so exciting to see what’s coming out soon! I love the foundation, it hasn’t left my make-up bag since it so flawless without being too heavy. I also think the new hot looks nail polishes colours are so wearable, they wont be leaving my nails anytime soon. The new mascara is great for the false lash effect without the false eyelashes. I like the ultra black for a night out. These products will be coming out soon so keep a look out for them.
After we had finished our morning session at the Collection 2000 HQ we went down to London, no less than first class on virgin trains. When arriving in London we got a taxi to the lovely Charings Cross Hotel where we were staying and the ‘A La Mode’ fashion show was held in the evening. We all got ready together and tried out the new Collection 2000 products. After having a dinner with the PR team, we headed to the fashion show which included the designers Mila Miyahara, Estelle Annabel and Hanako Narahira. Before the catwalk show started the host mentioned Collection 2000 fabset, we got around of applause from the audience! The show was fantastic.
Overall I had such a good time with the fabset and would like to say thank you to Collection 2000. I can’t wait to see the product the fabset have named in the shops.

Collection 2000 Fabset

The last few months have been very exciting for me. I won a competition with collection 2000 and LOOK magazine which makes me part of the FABSET for Collection 2000. I had to design make-up, hair and style a model. My inspirations come from designer catwalk shows including Dior, Alexander McQueen and Prada. Make-up artists that inspire me include Pat McGrath, Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown. I collected research I liked from the catwalk and from make-up artist that inspired me and designed a make-up and hair look. I styled the look using Topshop clothing. I love Topshop I can always find something I can spend my money on in there. Here are the photos, thank you to my lovely model friend Sarah Palmer who helped me out.

I was so excited when I found out I had won and even more so when I got to go to London fashion week!!! We all had an amazing day, here are some photos.

We took inspiration from London fashion week and went down to London again to style a shoot for LOOK Magazine!! My favourite Magazine so it was great getting to work on a magazine I read every week. We went to Zen studios (http://www.zenproductions.co.uk/) it was one of the nicest studios I have ever been in. We all got to riffle through the suitcases full of clothes and pick an outfit for our model. My model was Anna and I wanted the style to stay along the same lines as the theme from my winning entry. So I picked a leather jacket which has this seasons big shoulder look and I teamed this with some studded leggings to give that rock theme. For the make-up it was nice to carry through the strong lips I had on my winning entry and collection 2000 ‘Red Red’ volume boosting lipstick was used, the face and eyes where kept fairly plain so the focus was on the lips.
On the shoot we were given lots of lovely Collection 2000 make-up, we also got to look at the new products that Collection 2000 are bringing out which includes a fabulous eyeshadow pallet with strong colour pigments, which I love and the new Collection 2000 Collagen Curl mascara it curls my lashes and builds just enough volume it hasn’t left my make-up bag since!
Here the photos from LOOK magazine (this came out on the 27th November) and some photos from behind the scene at the shoot.
